DEF in Ram
Would anyone know right off, what year the DEF Fluid was started in the diesel Ram's...was it 2011?

Is DEF required by the EPA? I thought DEF was a choice over Dodge's earlier DPF BluTec system. Dodge had a lot of problems with their DPF on the 6.7L so I was under the impression they changed to DEF as a result. I have a 2007 Dodge with DPF and had TONS of issues although they appear to have been resolved.
