Are you sure your math is correct? According to this article, you are getting incredible mileage. The article bases DEF usage with a vehicle getting 6 MPG of diesel, saying it will use about one gallon of DEF per 300 miles driven. I would assume that if your truck gets 12 MPG, your DEF usage should be about 600 MPG.
