Walker111 - They exist. I bought one about 2 months ago. Maybe I should say that they existed 2 months ago. Try a different dealer or maybe on-line. I think it was under $10.
And for everyone wondering of 'it means it' when you run out of DEF - It does.
Pulled into a cg in Lander, Wyoming 2 weeks ago and the owner asked me if I saw the truck on the flatbed heading down the road. I didn't, just missed it. The story was that the guy was pulling his 5th wheel across Wyoming with a new truck and just totally ignored all the warnings that showed up on the info panel. Apparently he thought it was no big deal to run out of DEF and just refill when he felt like it. So the truck finally went into limp mode/stalled (she did not know those details) along a 2 lane Hwy in Wyoming. They finally got a tow truck to come out and get them. The tow dropped the 5th wheel at the cg I was at and I thought she said the truck had to go to a dealer for something to be reset.

I ran my ford out of def to see what would happen. The messages got more and more frequent and threatening. Eventually it went into limp mode where my max speed was reduced to 50 mph. I believe it runs at that level of inconvenience till I shut it off. Upon restarting it further reduced my max speed to 30 mph. Then I filled it with DeF and all was well.
Not sure I would try the same on my Duramax - don't trust the GM ECM.
Although I realize it is foolish to take risks when there is much to loose and little to gain I can't seem to help myself. I have always wanted to push the button just to see what would happen. Like the time I wanted to know if my ball hitch was in the receiver while I was traveling down the highway at 60 mph. I thought "I betcha the back up camera will come on but surely the transmission wouldn't shift into reverse." Well ...... the back up camera does come on and .......
