Thought I'd update what I ended up doing. Had 5 Ram dealers I contacted for pricing. Three of which were within 100 miles of us. Dennis Dillion and Dave Smith were the other two. After a lot of back and forth all three local dealers ended up being within $2-3 hundred of each other. Dillion was still $3200 less than the best price I could get locally. Smith was a whopping $5 grand More than all of them ! So much for being competitive I guess.
I had figured in travel cost's out and back and was even more than willing to pay a "premium" for buying locally. But at the end of the day, the other's were just too greedy and the savings too great not to go to Idaho. We are flying out and taking our time coming back. We are planning a cross country RV trip late summer/early fall and already have a list of things to see. We'll use this as an opportunity to cross some of those things off the list as we drive the new truck back home.
Thank you to everyone that responded. Your comments were much appreciated.
We bought our in Colorado in Sept and drove 1400 miles home! Learned so much about it in those 48 hours. Just watch the spot mirrors when down. Adjust the spot out all the way out and mid up and down. We were able to fly out first class, stayed at a nice Motel at Denver Air Port and the sales lady picked us up on Monday morning. High five'd each other all the way home! Cruising at 80 in Wyoming was fun and effortless in the new RAM.
We did 407 miles in the first afternoon, 660 miles the second day the the remained the morning of the third day. 48 hours dealer in Greeley, Co to home. Chris
