Depending on your traveling methods, access to the interior while traveling can be important. We often stop for lunch or a snack or to potty-up without moving the slide. Also in hard rains or cold weather we have been known to pull the slide in.

It sound like a labor of love, I am curious how close you will come to a 5K or 6K weight.
