Detachable Power Cord?
I have been looking at new Trailers and see most are coming with the power cord detached now instead of just pushing the cord into a trailer box? My question is why? What is the benefit from have a...

My 14 ft had a detachable. My 18 ft has the retractable. Much prefer the detachable since one can't access the compartment in my Shasta.
It worked fine when we brought it home. Guess what didn't work on the first trip? Yup. Late arrival at the campground, of course, and only about ten feet came out when we pulled on the cord.
DH pried off the circular housing trim and was able to get his arm in enough to wiggle around the power cord so it eventually worked. Then we realized the power pole was too far away anyway, so had to move the trailer.
So, Santa will bring a 30 amp extension cord.
