i have also used both, and while it is nice that ants can not follow the cord up into my sewer compartment with the detachable one, I would rather not have it available to any theft.
In my Bounder, the compartment is pretty large, and the floor opens up to have access for the power cord, 4: hose, and garden hose, so there is never a problem winding the cord back up.
With my old class C, the cord was in a box, and only a 2" diameter opening to slide it out, and put it back. But 30 amp cords are pretty flexible.
50 amp cords are pretty stiff, thus the need to remove them, and wind them up. It would be nice if they also make a detachable 30 amp cord, so if you are at a smaller park service, or home, you do not need to drag out the 50 amp 25 pound cord! Yes I am sure that someone makes one, or I could make my own, just my buddy with the 50 amp RV did not have a 30 amp lightweight cord.
I guess I will put up with whatever comes with my next RV.
Good luck,
Fred.
I have one of these
