My 2001 6.0 Chevy started the piston skirt slap at 75,000 mi. I sold it to a friend of mine, it now has 175,000 mi on it, still has skirt slap, still tows a 10,000# trailer 1 to 2 times a month. I would get a 2nd opinion before I did anything drastic.
