They tore the sheetmetal on our 94 Ram with a bigfoot 10.6. Many have had great success using them. I wasn't one of them. After that we replaced with TL on the 94, the 2004 and now the 2017. Not a single issue running big heavy campers.
I'd be willing to wager that the gauge of the sheet metal on my 1997 Ford bed is substantially thicker than your 2017 Dodge.
Again, never had an issue with my 97 and the HJ tie down's. When I bought the truck in 97, TL wasn't around. It was HJ or Rube Goldberg.
Torklift has been around more than 40 years and I replaced the happijac mounts on my 94 with their frame mounted tie downs.
Part of a after marketer like happijac's responsibility when they design aftermarket parts, produce fitment charts and product to be used on specific models is to provide some testing. In this case customers did the testing. I was not the only truck damaged. Ford and Chevy owners had same experiences until the happijac added additional parts and design to limit damaging customer vehicles.
As far a wagering, no thanks. Not sure what you have to wager but I don't need your last good tooth.
I have driven all three brands several hundred thousand miles over the last 25 years for both work and personal use. My purchasing decisions when it comes to trucks is fully informed with experience.
