Here we go again.
Maybe we should start a pool to guess how many pages this will burn up.

One more explanation for cracking bed is just truck build quality.
My friend bought Chevy 2500 pickup for his construction business.
The model was around 2010.
He installed lumber ruck and tool boxes on it, what within a year start making cracks on the bed.
Chevy denied warranty coverage as he not suppose to put tool boxes on contractor's vehicle :S
Friend kept using the truck with taillights hold by duct tape.
Meaning what did work years ago on some vehicles will not work today on different ones.
So now the question is
WHO HAS TORKLIFT TIE DOWNS AND CRACKS ON THE BED? ;)

Some of you might remember the original tiedowns that fit in the bed post holes... They were great and worked perfect.

I do and used them for years..Last camper with them was a 10 ft Security..Yes,they worked well without issue.

Stake pocket tie downs and turnbuckles was just the way to go!

Same HJ tiedowns for 19 years... Same camper 2 trucks.

Some of you might remember the original tiedowns that fit in the bed post holes... They were great and worked perfect.

I would not hesitate to use HJ's again but agree with the problem with aluminum beds... ugggg for lots of reasons.

Think before you post. I question there is a perfect company and/or a perfect product. It is reasonable to post your personal experience on any product or company. Keep in mind, that is your experience, and does not mean everyone agrees.

So many times different factors enter into our experiences. consider advertising. Have you ever heard of a company advertising another companies product is better than theirs? Think about it, what does it mean; "Best in its class."? My point is, use care following on blind faith or monkey see so monkey do evaluations.

I actually said I didn’t understand why someone with a hot water heater would use a solar water heater. I later said it makes sense for people who don’t have a water heater.

I’m not sure what your beef is with TL, but just calling out the thread for what it is. Manufacturers can’t post here, so don’t expect them to respond here to your accusation. You’ve been here long enough to know that TL is not only good, they are great.

You could not understand why campers might want to wash their hands at campfire neither Jim, so let's leave it here.
I started the topic as I did smell rat, but not being familiar with bed prices in different states, wanted to confirm my feeling.
Good and confident manufacturers don't do what TL does.

I’m not understandng why we have a thread about hypothetical TorkLift intent to slam a competitor. The reality is TorkLift is what’s recommended by a few manufacturers. Plus, many us have had great dealings with them.

Also, feel free to continue to use Happijac. I personally couldn’t imagine using anything other than a TorkLift tie down system after looking at the available alternatives. After all, they are a great company that stands behind their products.
