Did you know Jeep made a TC for the CJ?

If I was to go into a Jeep dealership looking for a 4X4 and camper in 1969, of the vehicles in the picture, I would much rather have the pickup, and then have a slightly longer camper and tag axle on that pickup with a V8 engine. The smaller CJ and V6 is not really going to have the horsepower to weight ratio that was expected in the 60's and 70's.





Also consider how wide the wheels are on the CJ compared to the height. The truck width should be much wider, and offer more stability.

That spare tire looks so close to the rear jeep tire. Seems like a right-sized rock or stick could just lodge in there.

I see it had a set of wheels under the camper to carry some of the weight. Doesn't seem to have caught on tho.

Very cute! And with it's own tag axle, and electric brakes, it will support most of that weight on the tag axle.

Our first cross country camping trip was back in 1975 with tent and camping gear. Took 3 weeks from georgia to seattle, down west coast to LA. Then back to GA.Driving a new 1974 CJ5 v-8. I still own that jeep,total cost of entire trip including gas was 300. dollars.Ah the good ol days.

What a moron. I have had several Jeeps. I wouldn't take a bare CJ on that route much less that top heavy disaster. Somebody's bad idea.

I prefer pushing my 'C' with my CJ5. Little hard to see where I'm going though. :)
