Your truck will have less power when the fuel filter gets near the point of total stoppage, when you notice this, change the filter. You won't have a breakdown.
When you buy clean fuel from a high usage station, it will be a very long time before the fuel filter collects enough dirt to shut down.
Remember Cummins must do the CYA thing by setting the requirement way low.
