Now Hyundai is following Mazda in adding a diesel to their line up.
2019 Hyundai Santa Fe will become the brand's first U.S. diesel
As I said before, diesels aren't dead just because VW group decided to leave the diesel market due to their scandal. Other makes have stepped up in offering diesel powered vehicles where there wasn't one before like Hyundai with this Sante Fe and Mazda's diesel CX-5 coming out later this year. While I still don't think diesels will ever sale more than a gasoline engines here due to our cheap fuel prices and love for performance, but anyone who says diesels are dead is just burying their head in the sand to ignore what is happening just so they can continue to feel good about thinking the way they do.
Mazda's been talking about bringing a small diesel over here for, what, 5 years now? Think the last announcement was that it would arrive late 2017. But still a no show.
So I'll believe that when I see it.
Hopefully the Hyundai will show up quicker.
