I paid this for Diesel today at my local Kroger's in North Dallas with Kroger points!!

Same holds true for Safeway.
And If I need to make a big purchase at a store that Safeway sells a gift card to, I use a points earning credit card to buy the gift card, which means I get points on the CC towards more gift cards, plus I get the fuel discount. Yes, I'm "working the system".
