Different Sizes Tires

I currently have 235/80/17 tires on my Dodge Dually. Now I have a chance to pick up some used 245/70/17 tires really cheap. They are the same brand as I currently have. How much of a difference do you think it will make.I think the tires are 1 1/2 inches shorter than my current tires.I guess I could use them on the front where size doesn't affect power, speedo etc.

    Spacing between the duals is necessary for proper cooling. I would be concerned with them being closer together.

    Check out this link.

    The diameter of the new tires are 1.3" smaller and the circumference is 4.1" less. Your speedo will be off by 4.1% uncorrected, meaning that at 60mph you will read 57.5mph

    Not a huge deal, and there are computers that can correct this, but you will need to replace all the tires for the sake of the 4 wheel drive and the ABS systems.

    As long as it is not a 4x4 I think you should be ok. Hopefully somebody corrects me if I am wrong.
