That's what I ran also, I believe the manual mentions the 75-140 for towing heavy.
Per my 2015 manual, front/rear axles 2500/3500. "Were commend you use Synthetic, GL-5 SAE 75W-85."
AMZ/OIL site recommends the use of SevereGear 75W-110.
AMSOIL Severe Gear (75W-110) provides superior performance and replaces competitors' 75W-110, 75W-90 and 80W-90 gear oils. It delivers better viscosity protection than Severe Gear 75W-90.
When I change out my rear diff I will Use the 75-110 and 75-90 in the front.
On the 1500 Diesel they show 75W-140.
