I tried the wiring mentioned by brholt but my basement fan would not come on when I move the fan switch to 'on'.
But now that I think about it, do you leave the System switch to 'Heat' when you use your electric heater?
I rewired it so the black and gray are on W and the red is on RH to match what the original connections were.
