Dinette Fix HELP

Went to drop some stuff off in our TT for upcoming trip, noticed that apparently on last journey home we had left a case of water on one of the dinette benches and it had actually vibrated apart. Wood loose all over. Now we have a trip this coming weekend and I want to attempt to at least get it usable. Don't want to do anything too permanent as I'd still like dealer to do a warranty repair if possible when we are done for this season. Sorry, I don't have pics. Any ideas???
  • dealer's not going to warranty a problem caused by you. And it's only 2x2 wood in most cases that the benches are built from using square drive screws to mount it to floor and walls. and sometimes large staples. Cordless screwdriver and some new 2x2 fixes it easily
  • I have used the L shaped metal brackets, with screws to add strength to the supports where the large staples are used.

Many times these staples have missed their mark, during assembly, in which case, may be covered by warranty. I would just repair it myself, and be done with it.

    X2

When we bounce these things down the road, at 65 MPH, we have to expect some things to come apart. Fixing them yourself, is part of RVing.

A few screws (maybe some corner braces) will cost much less than time and fuel, dragging it back and forth to the dealer. You won't have any arguments with the dealer and you'll know it is done right.

Fix it yourself and camp on.
  • X3. Don't sweat the small stuff. Just fix it yourself. You have to weigh it out. Possibly weeks at the dealer, or a couple of hours (at most) making what could be a better repair yourself.
