A lot depends on the time of day, day of the week, and pure traffic luck. You can run any of these highways with nearly any size rig - 95, 495, 695 - and just avoid the tunnel (circle 695 to the west) without going way out of your way and do just fine. Don't try it on a week day from 5 to 9 AM or 3 to 7PM and you'll most likely be fine. This time of year is actually the best - summer vacation season cuts the traffic significantly - even rush hour stays about 40 / 50MPH instead of the crawl it is for the rest of the year.
