With all the electrical and electronics in the newer RV's, the first thing on my list of things to buy would be a EMS system.
When We bought our Big Horn, the first thing I bought was the Progressive Industries EMS-PT50C Portable 50 AMP Electrical Management System. This has saved us several times from hi and low voltage problem, and has paid for it's self several times over.
I went with the portable unit over the hard wired because i figures it would be better to have the box outside and and burn than inside and burn. (Not saying I have seen one burn, but one loose wire can cause a major problem.
I use a black plastic bad over the post, held in place with a bungee cord to keep it dry and out of sight.
