I have both - yes, 2 sets, the older 'rifle handle' style, and the new ones.
They changed it for strength. I actually had one handle bust off, but it in all fairness, it was because some tweaker tried stealing them, and I had the locks on. He pulled so hard it snapped the handle off.
I really like the new ones, and LOVE the company. We've all had bad customer experiences, and good, and they most certainly for me, they are at the very #1 top of the list for service, and I feel thier products are A-number 1...
