Disposable LP tank to run refrigerator?

I purchased an adapter last year to attach a disposable (1 lb. canister) propane tank to my LP line, if I should run out of propane. I have a small (11 lb.) propane tank and worry about running out on trips with stays without hookups. Is there any difference in pressure or other considerations if I run out of propane and switch to the small tank while I find a propane refill?
