I know this is dependent on the individuals but I was curious as to what is considered a good day’s travel with a TT? Our only experience was from Indiana to the Ozarks in a 24 ft. TT we rented to see if we liked it. We traveled mostly on the Interstates.We discovered that we like to travel, then stop for a day or so to see the sights, then move on to the next point of interest. We stopped at three campgrounds in 10 days to see the sights but we were never more than 8 hours from home, so the last day was not that much of a push.Now we wish to go out west and I have been told that places are rather spread out so I wondered what kind of distances we should expect to travel each day?Oh yes, it is just a grandpa, grandma and grand dog.:)

We plan to average about 300 miles per day on our trip to the west coast and back. Fortunately we're newly retired, so don't have a return date set in stone.

I do a one day trip 2-3 times a year it's 1325km one way, it is a stretch and needs 2 stops for fuel. Normal trips we try to do one tank of fuel a day then stop for the night, unhook to refuel.

Took me awhile to find that "sweet spot" of RV'ing and I agree with Stu. 10 to 3 works perfect on all levels of traveling and CG arrivals.

Only thing I would add is that if you are traveling in the dreaded heat of Summer in the Southern states, I backed up the departure time. Get on the road by 8:00 and off by 1:00 before the heat of the day. Easier on the engine, dogs and driver!

At this point it is about the destination more than the journey. We drive from West Virgnina to Myrtle Beach, SC regularly. To maximize our beach time, I make the 490 mile, 9 hour drive in one shot, stopping for food and fuel.

Typically I travel pretty slow. I see a lot more that way. It gives me time to pull out either the, hiking boots, kayak, mnt bike or motorcycle. Recently it took me 30 days to travel between California City and Carson City. Maybe 330 miles? Or Denver to Salina, Kansas, 35 days for 475 miles. Never using an interstate, I might get a nose bleed going that fast!.

Your habits may vary, to mine.

I do the same about 9 to 3 or 10 to 3. And we make lots of stops.

The most miles I've pulled the trailer in a day is 900, made for a long day. I will start breaking the trip into to 450 mile segments. When I retire I won't be in any hurry.

we leave early about 8am ,stop and smell the roses as you go milage doesn,t matter . looking for a place as we go ,shut down about 3pm

About 200 a day for us. We are a lot more relaxed that way and can enjoy the CG and it's amenities. JMO

It depends upon what we are doing and if we have a reason to be somewhere that day.

I find that long term RV folks do 200-400 miles per day - with 300 or less most common.

Folks headed somewhere for a short (less than 30 days) vacation want to get there quickly and go longer time and distances.

Actually, for me - driving is about time, not distance.

I try to keep it around 5 or 6 hours on the road max.

Driving a truck/trailer or RV is more work than driving a car - harder on you. Can't see as well. More work.

And night driving really isn't fun.

I'm going to throw a wrench in it. We are not retired and only have so many vacation days. Like others have said it is more about the destination than the journey. We spend 3 weeks in The Keys each March and start in Northern NH (about an hour and half from the Canadian Border) on Wednesday night at 5 when we get out of work. We are in Key West Friday at 5. We go 650 miles on Wednesday night. 650 on Thursday and just over 500 on Friday. We like traveling at night when traffic is light.
