Here is my version. With my fiberglass camper I didn't want to put any bolts or attachment points into the camper at all. Only used what was already there. I had a few things that I was trying to accomplish. First, I wanted the whole thing to fit into here when taken apart.
Second thing was to have it so it covered the rear door and didn't need any ropes to hold it in place. Unless its quite windy of course.
And third, it needed to be cheap. I mean really cheap. Like less than $15 cheap.
This is what I came up with. Its only the prototype so I need to go out and use it now and see how it performs before I make it look perfect. It's attached to the roof cargo rack with ball bungees. Wood 1x2(had them laying around) are used to keep everything taught. I few holes drilled here and there into the wood 1x2 and everything slips together. Setup takes just over 5 minutes and can be done by standing on the rear bumper of the camper. Take down is even less time.
And yes, the whole thing when taken down fits inside the rear bumper.
So if this setup works out I plan on getting a white tarp (looks way better) and finding another adjustable pole for the other leg (store only had one this morning). After that I will either paint the wood 1x2 pieces white or change them to PVC.
All pieces slide in the last few inches to clear the door on the bumper. Only sticking out for easier viewing for the picture.
