Weight distribution set ups will go a long way in adding stability. They add more points of attachments to your TV. Even slow speed bumps will have a noticeable difference when a properly tensioned hitch is in play. It only magnifies with speed.
However, as previous posters have stated, it's my opinion that one is not needed....just recommended.
