I agree with this ^^^^^^ fuel is more $$ than gas, but diesel with get a little better MPG, the diesel holds twice the oil, so an oil change is more $$ but you don't to change as often if your truck burns clean, the extra pulling power IE torque is worth a lot to me.
ok so you have to buy 6 tires instead of 4, and the engine on some of the older diesels is loud, and some of the repair bills are astronomical with some of the newer stuff.
I have been on both sides of the coin with a gas tow rig and a diesel tow rig, the last time I pulled with my gas truck I said to my self ( I will never own another gas truck, and I have held true, but I farmer and tow some heavy things so I mite be a little bias.
