Just curious what makes a DRW not a viable option for you?
There are lots of reasons some more serious than others. :)
1. DRWs have hips, and DW wouldn't let me own an ugly truck.
2. I couldn't park it where I needed to park at work.
3. When I go offroad, I don't want to take a chance of a rock being between the tires.
4. DRWs are not as good for bad traction conditions including snow/mud.
5. DRWs require more room to manuever. That is key for this city dweller.
6. DRWs get worse mileage due to extra wheels and different gearing.
I could go on, but I'll stop for now. ;) FWIW, only newer DRWs (outside of the Ford's of '05 and above) have significantly more capability to haul loads than my SRW with Supercab. From a tire durability standpoint, a G rated 19.5 SRW beats E rated DRW front tires, and it isn't close. I compromised and bout a 9 1/2 instead of a 11 1/2.
