Do mods void trailer warrenty?

We just brought home our new TT last weekend. I started some mods (adding bed rails to my bunks). In the process I crawled on the top bunk to turn on the light, and it crashed down. Broke right by the bunkhouse cabinet. The wood looks to me to have a weak spot where it broke. Either way, It's limit is 300lbs I am about 200lbs wet. Do the bed rails void my warranty?
  • I would probably not worry about warranty and rebuild it better myself.

    but immediately notify dealer/mfr.

  • If the bed is rated for 300 lbs. and you weigh less than 200 lbs. I would think it would be covered.

Whether it is worth the delay or the effort may be another issue.

That is what I was thinking, as the warranty process is probably a pain. Should be an easy fix, the trim and luan just came loose didn't crack, one cracking the wood frame of bed I can reinforce.

  • When you read your warranty did it mention modifications? Have you taken it to your dealer for repair?
