I ask this because its is most likely that the floor plan you fall in love with won't come with the double-pane windows. Yes I know that some degree of customization can be ordered in trailers models that come with double panes, but I expect it maybe cheaper to go the plastic sheet route.

Yes, I've tried the plastic. For at least 5 years I have had it on two windows that I don't need to open. It's almost impossible to keep it in place on the window above the head of the bed. I don't put it on two other windows because I need some ventilation.
We can get big temperature swings in the mountains in springtime. It's not too unusual to have frost at night and see 80* during the daytime. I've stayed out for as long as a month and I see a great variety of weather conditions. So I can't seal up all the windows.
