Backing up!!!!
I use both a rear spotter person and 2 CB radios, one in the truck the other is a hand held CB radio so she can talk directly to me without my having to hold a CB. We just put both CB's on the same channel. IMHO, backing up with just a rear spotter and hand signals is a disaster waiting to happen:):)
Strongly suggest you spend a little extra and avoid cheaper models. i.e. Midland or Cobra, also buy a good truck CB antenna like a Wilson.

CB's are also practical and helpful on monitoring road conditions and traffic. Truckers are also willing to give you road conditions ahead of you.
