OP here -- wow, there are a lot of different systems that folks have developed! I'm going to see if I can persuade her to use the walkie talkies, at least in the dark or in very tight spots -- we do a lot of boondocking in heavily timbered places.
Someone mentioned that she is really the one in charge of parking and I am just the driver -- that is so true. It's like an ocean liner -- the guy at the wheel is not the captain! So far, nearly 600 nights of camping, without a scratch. (I just knocked on wood, so we are good to go.) ;)
