My black and gray tanks both feed to the same outlet. I put a Flush King valve on the outlet which allows the gray water to back-flush into the black tank, then I can back-flush the black tank at least 3 times pulling more and more out each time. After the 3rd back-flush, I let the rest of the gray water go to clean out the hoses. Been doing this for years now. My new camper (Outback) has the flush attachment rinser built into the tank. I've used it a few times now, but I've found the old method of back flushing gray water into the black tank is still the most effective and doesn't use any more water. I always backflush with the gray water.
This is also a good approach that can not only flush the black tank but can also be used to "free up" some room inside the grey tank as needed - as long as the grey is more full than the black and the valves are open in the right order - grey then black. ;)
Flush King is a great piece of kit, IMO.
