What a cool question! And it seems as RVers we all have examples of how "no one unit" is perfect. Each type has pros and cons.
Like having a (or several) vacation home(s), I can't justify the extra work or cost to "keep" more than just our one home. RVs are similar, but to a much lesser cost extent.
We have the small camper we are trying to make "our only" and sell the larger TT that we find takes more effort and cost to use than what we want. I guess the occasional hotel stay answers our "less than home sized RV" the trailer provides.
