The only time I let a diesel warm up, or a gas for that matter, even then, not a lot of warm up, is if the temps are below 30F, or if I stayed in a interstate hwy rest area, and the freeway is 1 min from start. Then I let the motor run/idle a bit. Otherwise, slow start out is better from a warm up standpoint.
