OP'er here. Thanks for all the replies. Just a short update. Went camping this weekend, awesome weather and had a great time. Went to Crowder State Park.
When we left I let the truck warm up while hitching and dumping the tanks. Driving out of the park, there is a fairly steep hill about an eighth mile long. Truck temp was about 130 degrees. I had plenty of power this time, even pulled most of the hill in second gear.
So I think my whole problem before was I didn't let it warm up before heading up that hill. That will be standard operating procedure from now on. Again, thanks for all the replies.
