Do you Travel with bedroom TV mounted or do you take it off?

Those of you who mounted the bedroom TV on studs - do you drive with the TV mounted or do you take it off and set up when you arrive?

I have my 24" LED TV mounted on the lowest profile tilt-only non-arm mount (about 2.5" off the wall) and it seems sturdy enough for me to be tempted to at least try one trip and see how it does. The 2 mounting screws are 2" long.

  • The 26" LED set that came with the trailer is mounted on a locking arm. We leave it attached and secured when traveling.........too many hard to reach wires going to the Radio/DVD player that would have to be unplugged.
  • 19", 24" and a 32" all stay mounted while traveling and no problems.
  • My TT came with a fold down shelf that you could fold up and put a tiny TV up there. I bought a small TV DVD and put brackets on the back of it and they slipped over the folded down shelf. I leave it up there all the time.

  • I have a 19" LED on a swing arm mount in the bedroom attached to the sidewall and I do not take it down when travelling. The 32" LED stays hung on its mount in the living area. That is a flat mount with a tilt feature. Maybe on borrowed time but have not had a problem and have been on some rough roads.

That said, choose whichever you are more comfortable with but I will continue to travel as I do.

    Have fun and safe travels.
  • The one that came hanging in the living room will come off if you just pick it up but I leave it on the wall when we travel.
  • This is my opinion only, but I take mine down (26" lcd) and lay it on the bed. There's so much bouncing going on in the tt, I just don't want to chance it. That said, it's prolly fine.
