Dodge 2500 or 3500 for a Travel Trailer
Trying to decide on a Dodge 2500 or 3500 truck for a 25' travel trailer. I sure like the stability of the one-ton trucks, but getting around town might be easier in a 3/4 ton. What's your opinion,...

The Ram 2500 and 3500 are almost identical. The only mechanical differences are leaf springs rated to 7000 lbs on the rear of the 3500 or coil springs rated to 6500 lbs on the rear of the 2500. Same wheels, tires, brakes, axles, sheet metal, dimensions, etc.
The coils of the 2500 ride a little softer than the leaves of the 3500, which means the 3500 is more capable for heavier loads. Other than that, no difference.
For a 25' trailer, either truck will be substantial overkill. If you plan on getting a much heavier trailer in the future, maybe the 3500 is your better option. If you plan to keep a small trailer, the 2500 is a great choice.
