Yes, I am smart. Well enough to know the real reason why these devices are on these trucks and it is not for the reasons you are stating. How? Because I worked for the very same engine manufacturer that made the 5.9L, 6.7L, and your 8.3L. I am going by actual facts, data, and experience and not some hearsay heard around the watercooler.
Rather than ruin the OPs thread, PM me if you want to know the real reason why these devices are on these trucks.
