NOT all diesels turn the oil black quickly. My 15 stays clean for a while before turning dark. My 98 12V would get dark by 5K but never black. My 11 HO RAM turned black immediately. 81 VW PU black instantly. I drain overnight on all my vehicles.
OP your oil should stay looking good for quite a while, you said "Just get an oil change" I assume you paid someone to do it? The fact is if you did pay someone there was no doubt 1/2 quart still inside the engine and that would help turn it dark instantly. Drain overnight and it will stay good for a while.
