I just bought it for my new Ram truck. I paid 2185 from a dealer in Michigan... probably the same one you found. They told me the prices went up 100 but I just figured it was their way of pressuring me but they might have been telling the truth.
I plan to get my use from it but who knows if I will. I don't care about "modding" my truck. Stock is just fine with me. I have a company to run, small kids to take care of and a wife to please. I envy you guys who can spend weekends under your trucks but @ 40K to buy the thing it better be just fine the way it is. Also, I put about 25K miles/year on for work and am just fine paying the dealer for oil changes and what not. I ended up getting rid of my last truck (06 Duramax) for fear of repair costs coming up. I know the Duramax is held in high regard but it is a truck. At 150K and putting on 25K/yr I was going to be putting some money in for repairs in the next few years. With this truck I don't have to even think about it.
So, the warranty should work out for me but it may not be for everyone.
