I don't understand how 3/4 tons are out of your budget. They cannot cost more an $1000 extra used, or have 20k more miles, or cloth seats vs. leather. I'd look for one.
Are you open to a van? They are about half the cost of a pickup of the same year and miles.
I don't like the trans gears on the Ram. But I guess for that ear, that's as good as you'll get. The Hemi has plenty of power.
