make sure you have the 3.92 gears in the truck you buy. i have a 2004 dodge 1500 hemi with tow package but 3.56 gears and a trailer just a little bigger then yours and before 2006 the transmission would not lock out the 2nd over drive gear and the transmission is always serching between 2nd, 3rd 4th. i bought a 2012 chev 1500 with the 6 speed and 3.42 gears and even though it has less horsepower power wise it pulls the trailer far better then the hemi.
