Used Diesel prices are insane right now. But I would especially steer clear of any used truck with stacks, or a tuner, or anything that makes you think it was hot rodded around.
Buying a tuned truck "could" be a risk, especially to those that don't know what to look for. Buying one with stacks could still be bone stock, and Imo looks cool, but you'll hate yourself after towing about 20 miles with it, unless it has mufflers.
There are plenty of modded diesels out there though that are as reliable and more capable than their stock counterparts. Mine for example.
I have everything that needs to support the extra power beefed up as well and the result is a 10 year old truck that can run with, or ahead of, a new stock one.
I'm also not completely bombed. Just injectors and a tune.
I totally agree with you there. However I am the type of person that likes to buy used vehicles that have been gently used. I would rather do all the modifications myself. That way I know how the truck has been used. I know lots of guys with tuned trucks the beat the snot out of them.
