^Totally agree with you. And one needs to know what they're looking at/for much more intimately if buying something that's modded significantly.
Trouble with older used diesels now, besides price like you said, is availability. And the propensity for a large percentage of them to have performance mods. Reeeealy limits a person in that market for available used rigs.
