Ours is the dreaded 47RE trans. It has 142,000 miles, at least half of which involved towing a horse trailer, and no problem yet. A re-build at a local trans shop is about $2500 and that includes a heavier Billet Torque converter. If we keep the truck we are thinking of having the re-built done before we experience a problem. Being stuck on the side of the road with 2 horses is not a pretty thought.
