Aluminum has been used in making cars and trucks including class 8 trucks for a very long time.
Cars like the Jaguar, Mercedes, Audi, Cadillac, Alfa Romeo, BMW Land Rover and Range Rover, Corvette and many others all use some combination of either Aluminum Monocoque bodies and or frames and body panels.
Aluminum can be easier to replace and fix than steel. Body shops have been up to speed on this for a long time. (at least the good ones) (I cant speak for Bubba out in his garage under the tree though)
Aluminum has been used in Class 8 trucks for many many years along with Fiberglass composites.
This entire idea you put forth is just out of date and not conversant with the reality of modern car manufacturing. And of course this trend is moving into our Pickups and it is about time.
