Dodge Ram Plastic Hood?

I did a search and I couldn't find any further info...
Does the Dodge Ram utilize a plastic hood now?
My buddy has a 1500... and a magnet does not stick to it, and knocking on it does not sound metalic....
What's the scoop?
Ford aluminum body doesn't sound so bad at this point....

  • but...is it "military grade"? That is the question....
  • Yep, Its Aluminum. I believe that the GM twins are aluminum as well. The hood on my old 2000 Town Car is also Aluminum. I haven't checked my 2008 F150 out yet, but I bet that the hood is Aluminum too.

    Thanks!

  • It's ALUMINUM

RAM has been using aluminum for hoods since 2009 (GEN 4 RAMs)
