Not sure about the new 14's, but my buddy's '13 2500 CTD Megacab has about 2200lbs of payload per the door jamb sticker. His is the Laramie ( I think) with the rambox.

Riding in the back of his Megacab for 3.5-4 hrs was just as comfortable as being in the front seat when we headed north for "turn around" snowmobile trip. Drove up, rode 200 miles, crashed for the night, then drove home first thing in the morning. Can't compare to a crew cab as I haven't been in one of the newer redesigned crews, but having a reclining seat in the Mega was probably the biggest help.
