How right you are. Unfortunately, tomorrow much of the conjecture will be posted as fact.

Super_Dave, was your truck state safety inspection in California?

Just registered the truck for Utah. They have yearly safety inspections. The registration fee dropped from almost $500/year to $120/year.
I worked with a fellow years ago that licensed his vehicles in Oregon, but he lived in California. His driver's license was California. His vehicle insurance was on a California address. A CHP pulled him over, stating he had saw my co-workers truck on several occasions with Oregon plates. The CHP saw the driver's license was California, and wrote a citation for false vehicle registration. The CHP said the Judge could sort it out, and stated that if the vehicle was brought into California from another state it was to be transferred to a California license. After it was said and done, my co-worker paid a substantial fine. I hope you do not get caught up in something like that. - JaxomExplorer

I think buy-back and bail-out with Chrysler are related.
Remind me who is paying for them?
FCA is. The loans have ALL been paid back. - sleepyExplorer

You can rest assured that Chrysler won't pay you any more than current "blue book" value for a truck.
What they're counting on is that most people will not accept the buyback, due to the fact that they're coming out on the short end of the stick.
I think you are correct.... Blue book minus milage and condition of wear and tear,
I doubt that any one with a vehicle over 2 years old will get enough to make the down payment on a new truck of a different brand.
And who in their right mind would buy a used vehicle with a recall notice on it's vin.... if there is a safety issue you might not be able to licence it.
The TV news tonight was going after Mustangs at the car rental places... Hertz, Avis, said that they will no longer rent them out.... so ford has troubled too. - jefe_4x4Explorer"Oh yeah!
The 4X4 front axle carp!!"
Hey! Where's my carp? I want some carp!
Mine didn't come with any.
After going thru a class action suit on the Jeep XJ Bendix 9 anti-lock brakes I can say he only way to get a mfgr. to force a recall is if it is an obvious safety issue.

- GordonThreeExplorerThe federal order allows Fiat to repair and resell the bought-back trucks. If that's possible, why can't Fiat fix these trucks for their owners instead of low-balling them with bluebook values?

My 2010 had a recall and repairs were done on the front steering and suspension. I guess I am in the 60% of those who had repairs made.
Our friends also had the repairs done on their 2012. The issue as I understand it is those repairs didn't necessarily correct the problem.
