Thanks for all the replies so far!!
I found 2 things of interest: First, we never considered a 1 ton to this point. Thanks to the advice provided, we'll now factor that in. After all, we keep our stuff a very long time, assuming it's not a lemon! The second is the rear tire pressure of the Ram we test drove. We'll have to go back and look at it again and see what the tire pressure was. The dealer is 5 minutes from where we live and still has it on the lot.
I also appreciate there is brand loyalty out there, and that's OK! Just asking the question on this site has already provided two pieces on information that we did not know. Thank you and please keep commenting at will!!
